We had great fun on Easter Saturday morning making Easter craft, eating lots of great cakes, and watching the puppet team tell a story that helped us think about Easter.
Our resident donkey Eddie got lost on his way to Reggies’ party, because he didn’t use the map Reggie sent. After various misadventures, he found himself locked up in a prison drawn by the scary crayons, who were quite cross that Eddie hadn’t used the map they had worked hard to produce! Fortunately, the kindly yellow crayon produced the key of hope to set Eddie free.
The yellow crayon explained that on Easter Saturday morning, the disciples, like Eddie, felt stuck in a dark place lost and alone, but with the yellow rays of sunshine on Easter Sunday came new hope and freedom, because Jesus rose from the dead to offer new life for all.
Many thanks to all who helped with the morning including the bakers, coffeemakers, crafters and puppeteers.
There will not be a Messy Church on April 10th – next one is on May 8th.
